• Recognitions at the April 3rd Board Meeting

    During each monthly Board of Education meeting, time is allotted for recognition of students, staff, business partners, and schools that bring honor to the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ and further its mission to improve the quality of education. There was several recognitions at the Board Meeting on April 3, 2019.

    Pledge of Allegiance

    Joestell Odette with the Board of Education

    Joestell Odette, an 8th grader at (Wayne) Ruble Middle School, was selected to lead the Board of Education in the Pledge of Allegiance.

    "Joestell is an amazing young lady. She is the ASB treasurer and an honor roll student. She takes pride in her work, takes initiative and always has a smile on her face. She is a positive role model for her peers and a true leader. It is truly an honor to have such a bright, amazing young lady on our campus.", said Superintendent Randal S. Bassett.

    Safe and Sober

    Safe and Sober winning teams with the Board of Education

    The Board recognized the top 3 winners of the Safe and Sober PSA Contest, of which First Place Director Johann Ramirez of Summit High School, second place Carolina Inzunza from A.B. Miller High School, and third place Anthony Arciga from Summit High School were present to receive their recognition. 

    "Tonight is an important event our recognition as we kick of our 2019 Safe and Sober Campaign for the upcoming prom and graduation season," said Michael Garcia, Director of Family and Community Engagement. "As part of our yearly campaign we reached out to our high school students to produce a 30 second PSA (Public Service Announcement)regarding partying safe and sober."

    The first place video will be shown at the Regency Fontana Theater during the months of April and May before all the movies," she continued.

    On March 13, ingagural youth summit for students who might benefit from going on a conference. This was an all day session that was put on by the peerleading group.

    "On March 13 our student services department and our multi-Tiered System of Support put on an inagural youth summit and this was a summit for our at risk students and students who we thought would benefit from an opportunity of going to a conference, we put on a conference style workshop for them in which they received different types of training and PD," said Dr. Shannon Miller, Director of Special Projects
