All students who attend the Naval Academy do so on a full scholarship. The Navy pays 100% of the tuition, room and board, medical and dental care costs of Naval Academy midshipmen. In addition, all midshipmen receive the following:
- $1,087.80 per month, which covers the cost of laundry, barber, cobbler, activity fees, yearbook, and other services.
- $100 in cash per month, which increases each year.
- A guaranteed job upon graduation
All of these benefits are included in your experience in return for 5-years of active duty service upon graduation.

The United States Coast Guard Academy prepares future leaders of the Coast Guard and our nation. Admission to the Coast Guard Academy is highly competitive and based on merit. Congressional nominations are not required or considered. Each year, the Academy admits about 300 cadets from thousands of applicants.

The Merchant Marine Academy is a federal service academy that educates leaders of exemplary character who are inspired to serve the national security, marine transportation, and economic needs of the United States as licensed Merchant Marine Officers and commissioned officers in the Armed Forces.
The Federal Government pays the majority of the cost associated with enrollment at USMMA. Midshipmen receive tuition, room and board, uniforms, and textbooks at no cost. Basic medical and dental care are provided through the Academy's Office of Health Services.
Graduates can shoose to work five years in teh Untied States maritime industry with eight years of service as an officer in any reserve unit of the Armed Forces, or five years on active duty in any of the nation's Armed Forces.
