CTE Pathway Program at Fontana High School open to all FUSD High School Students

  • A ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ administrator pilots a Cessna 172 in a Redbird flight simulator at A.B. Miller High School during the District’s annual Leadership Institute.

    Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway Programs at Fontana High: In order to assist schools sites in meeting the College and Career Indicators, the College, Careers and Economic Development Department has created several CTE Pathways at Fontana High School that are available to all students in Fontana High Schools for the Second Semester (Spring 2020).

    Emergency Medical Technician:  The EMT program is a 2 course sequence offered during the 7th and 8th period block for any ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ student in 9th - 12th grade. The first class, Emergency Medical Responder is a one semester, double block class offered during 7th & 8th period. The second class in the sequence is Emergency Medical Technician, with two options for students. Students can take EMT Fundamentals during the 7th & 8th period block or students who will be 18 by March 1, 2020 can take Chaffey College EMT 11 in the evenings - 2 days per week (days TBA later).

    Firefighting Academy:  The Firefighting Academy is a 2 course sequence offered Saturdays at Fontana High School for any ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ student in 9th - 12th grade. It is a 2 semester, 1 year program involving Emergency Services and Fire Prevention one semester AND Fire Behavior and Safety & Survival in Semester 2.  This class meets Saturdays, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

    Law Enforcement Academy:  The Law Enforcement Academy is a 2 course sequence offered Saturdays at Fontana High School for any ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ student in 9th - 12th grade. It is a year long program involving one semester of Law Enforcement AND Advanced Law Enforcement the following semester. This class meets Saturdays, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

    Theater Production:  Theater Production is offered during Periods 7 and 8 and is the concentrator course in this pathway.  Students will need to complete the capstone course, Advanced Theater Production the following year.

    It is important that students who enroll in any one of these CTE Pathways, complete the sequence of courses.  This will help students meet the prepared level along with other state requirements.
