Meet Dr. Dustin Saxton, Principal of A.B. Miller

July 25, 2018 meeting of the FUSD Board of Education, the Board approved Dustin Saxton, Ph.D., as the new Principal of A.B. Miller High School.

Dr. Saxton was born in Illinois and grew-up in Missouri at the Lake of the Ozarks, a 200-acre farm. “My dad worked and retired from UPS, so we mostly raised beef cattle and hay,” he said.

He attended Drury University in Springfield, Missouri where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management. After substitute teaching in Redlands Unified School District, he said he was hooked and immediately started working on getting his teaching credential. He continued his education and earned a Master of Arts degree in Education and Divinity and a Specialist in Education, as well as a Ph.D. in New Testament Theology.

Dr. Saxton was an Assistant Principal in charge of discipline at three high schools (La Sierra, Upland and Orange). For the last five years, he has been the Principal of El Modena High School in Orange. “Before that, I taught math at San Bernardino High School and was Principal of a K-12 private school for five years,” he said. “I loved every minute of all my positions and love working in high schools.”

“Getting hired at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ feels like coming home,” said Dr. Saxton. “I learned how to teach in the Inland Empire and I’m so excited to be back! Walking onto the A.B. Miller campus, I felt like I was exactly where I should be.”
